What We Do

The League of Women Voters of Montgomery County is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower voters and defend democracy.

In election years, we assist county residents in becoming informed participants in our community and government by providing them with well-researched and unbiased information on critical issues, candidates, ballot questions, and voting.

Our Voter Service Activities

• Producing Voters' Guides and VOTE411 in English and Spanish
• Hold voter registration drives
• Host candidate forums for local offices

Our Civic Engagement, Education and Advocacy Activities

•  Conduct studies on local public policy issues through Resource Committees who prepare Fact Sheets to educate League members and the public and to
provide background for the  League’s Positions on Issues.  For more information on Current LWVMC Studies.
• Lobby, testify and work in alliances with other organizations in support of LWV priority positions.
• Provide multi-platform Civic Engagement and Education activities, including monthly free-to-the-public Trending Topics

Other LWVMC Services

• Speakers’ Bureau – we provide speakers, upon request, on a range of topics to outside groups
