Supreme Court decisions
The U.S. Supreme Court issued decisions in four highly anticipated cases: first, the court upheld Ohio’s unreasonable voter purge standard in Husted v. A. Philip Randolph Institute. Second, in Minnesota Voters Alliance v. Mansky, the Court found that the Minnesota law that challenged political apparel at polling places was too subjective to be enforceable. And finally, in two partisan gerrymandering cases, Gill v. Whitford and Benisek v. Lamone the court ruled that the plaintiffs failed to demonstrate standing and sent the cases back to the district courts without ruling on the merits. LWV will continue to fight for transparent and accountable redistricting processes.
