43rd Annual Women's Legislative Briefing (WLB)

The Montgomery County Commission for Women will host its 43rd Annual Women's Legislative Briefing (WLB) virtually on January 29, 2023. The WLB will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This year’s theme is “Empowered Women Protect Democracy.” Our plenary panel “Women Who Empower Through Advocacy” will be moderated by Adrianna Hopkins, ABC 7 Newscast and will include the following speakers:

Virginia Kase Solomón, CEO, League of Women Voters.
DeAnna Hoskins, President and CEO, JustLeadershipUSA, Inc.
Susan Jin Davis, Social Impact Officer, Al Roker Entertainment, Inc.

Participants will also hear from advocates, scholars, and policy professionals on a variety of topics including empowerment through advocacy, health, safety, economic justice, and education.

In addition, the WLB is an opportunity to connect with change makers in the community. The WLB will also feature Emerging Leaders sessions for 6th - 12th grade students. MCPS students can earn 3 SSL hours for attending the Emerging Leaders program sessions.
