LWVMC In Action: A Guide to Becoming More Involved in Our League (Day 2)
About this event
Over the course of two 3-hour workshops, held on November 1 and November 15, 2025, this program discusses how the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County (LWVMC) works to empower voters and defend democracy with voter registration and services, civic education and engagement programs and issues advocacy. Participants can expect to gain a deeper understanding of our mission, organization, how we are involved in our community, and ways to become more involved. For more program details go here: LWVMC in Action Workshops Overview.
Participants may attend in-person at the LWVMC office or on-line via Zoom. Attending both workshops is very much encouraged but not required. These workshops are available to LWVMC members only.
Day 2 of this program, on Saturday, November 15, will focus on our advocacy programs and how action influences policy at the local, state, and national levels. Sessions cover these topics:
• Montgomery County Government – Guide to County Executive/Legislative Branches
• Developing Policy Positions – Our Study and Consensus Process
• Advocacy at the Local/State/National Level
Day 1 of this program includes an overview of LWV/LWVMC's history, mission and organization and discusses voter services, education and engagement. If you have not already done so, sign up for Day 1 on November 1 here: League In Action: A Guide to Becoming More Involved in LWVMC (Day 1) - 11/1/2025
