LWVMD Wants Stricter Coal Fire Emission Standards

LWVMD Testifies in Favor of Stronger Standards for Water Pollution for Coal Plant Discharge:  Coal plants are the number one source of toxic water pollution in the country. As the MD Department of the Environment moves to renew water pollution discharge permits for Dickerson, Chalk Pooint and Morgantown coal-fired power plants, the League strongly urges using 2015 EPA Clean Water Standards to reduce arsenic and selenium pollutants into Potomac Rivers and the Chesapeake Bay.
